Opener Repair

Usually, it is easy to spot problems with the door operator right away. The motor is silent or makes strange sounds and the door doesn’t move up. When the opener doesn’t start, the controls are checked first. Sometimes, replacing the batteries of the clicker is sufficient for solving the problems. In others, the faulty control has to be replaced. If the controls work fine, the motor unit is examined carefully. The problem could be with the motor or the circuit board. When repair is not possible, the component is replaced. Strange sounds coming from the motor unit usually indicate broken moving gear. Once the part is replaced, the system will start working normally again. When the motor rung smoothly, but the door doesn’t open, the problem is typically due to broken trolley which has to be replaced.

Opener Replacement

There are several reasons for replacing the door operator. If it doesn’t meet the UL 325 safety standard, it should be replaced as soon as possible. A serious problem which would cost more to fix compared to a new device is also a major reason for replacement. It is also possible to opt for a new garage door opener to get better performance and higher security. Most often, the device is replaced because it has come to the end of its useful life. The actual work involves dismantling the motor unit and the hardware and installing the new components. It is not recommended for a new unit to be used with old hardware. The settings have to be adjusted accurately.
